Egypt’s mobile landscape is evolving quickly, and eSIM technology is becoming more mainstream. Just a couple of years ago, most carriers had limited or no support for eSIM, but now all four major operators — Vodafone Egypt, Orange Egypt, Etisalat Misr, and WE (Telecom Egypt) — have rolled out official eSIM services.
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM is a digital SIM that’s embedded in your device. It lets you activate a mobile plan without inserting a physical SIM card. For Egyptians, this means easier switching between plans, better travel options, and more flexibility for dual SIM usage.

How to Activate an eSIM in Egypt
- Check if your phone supports eSIM (Settings > Cellular > Add Cellular Plan).
- Visit your carrier’s branch or use their app to request an eSIM.
- Verify your identity with your national ID/passport.
- Receive and scan the QR code provided by your carrier.
- Restart your device and confirm that your plan is active.
Pricing & Fees
As of August 2025, eSIM service fees vary slightly between carriers. WE, for example, charges approximately LE330 for a new eSIM and LE270 for swapping from a physical SIM. Vodafone, Orange, and Etisalat have similar charges, often waived during promotions.
